Enjoyable, but character interactions not true to life 5u6k12

I mostly enjoyed these episodes but found the interaction between the kids and the adults rather wooden in places. Georges parents were mostly made out to be idiots, especially her father who is supposed to be a scientist. Where conflict was expected between kid and adult -- especially baddy adult -- none occurred. In some situations where the kids should have reacted or challenged, they didn't. One of those programs where I yelled at the TV to tell the actors to do something. The writers unfortunately let and actors and viewers down. I found the 1977-79 Famous Five TV Series much better written and engaging. If one can overlook these minor faults in the script it is otherwise an enjoyable series, and the actors did well. Looking forward to the next series and can see the actors grow into their roles as the actors in the 70s series did. Maybe the kids should contribute more to the script during auditions since they'll be able to tell what they feel should come next naturally.
