As World War II rages over Europe, Detective Chief Superintendent Foyle fights his own battle against murder, mystery and betrayal on the south coast of England. Set against the background of real events, the second series sees Foyle and his team investigating a looting racket which ends in murder, an illicit trade in fuel, a shooting during Home Guard manoeuvres, and a secret wartime hideaway. Foyle's loyalties are put to the test as his inquiries uncover unpleasant truths that powerful people would rather keep hidden.
