Set on the Homicide floor of a police headquarters in Melbourne, City Homicide follows four young detectives as they work to bring justice for the deceased. Jennifer Mapplethorpe (Nadine Garner), ambitious and intelligent, swimming with the sharks in an all-male tank; Simon Joyner (Daniel Maherson), keen, cool and self-assured; Duncan Freeman (Aaron Pederson), living high, ready to fall; and Matt Ryan (Damien Richardson), intense and driven.

Detective Senior Sergeant Stanley Wolfe (Shane Bourne) and Detective Superintendent Bernice Waverley (Noni Hazelhurst) provide the necessary back-up to make sure this young crew survives in the a grim and dangerous world.
